Specialist Aquaculture Insurance

  • Onshore farming – breeding and farming of fish in based tanks, ponds, and raceways. Water is oxygenated in a number of ways including gravity fed, pump ashore and recirculation aquaculture systems
  • Offshore farming – farming and/or ranching of fish in cages based in open water such as lakes, lochs and the open sea.
  • All risks of mortality in transit.

Flexible approach to tailor an insurance policy specifically to the needs of the business. The range of perils can be ‘comprehensive all named perils’ or one or more specified perils dependant on your needs.

Specified peril include:

  • Pollution
  • Theft, malicious acts
  • Predation or physical damage caused by predators or other aquatic organisms (but not sea lice or other ectoparasites)
  • Storm, lightning, flood, tidal wave, collision, sudden and unforeseen structural failure of equipment
  • Jellyfish infestation
  • Drought, fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake
  • Deoxygenating
  • Any other change in concentration of the normal chemical constituents of the water, including change in PH or salinity
